Darge and Denholm sign until 2023

26th April 2022

Two of Hearts' bright young talents have put pen to paper on new contracts after impressing out on loan.

Arron Darge and Aidan Denholm will remain at Tynecastle until the summer of 2023, both signing one-year extensions.

They join teammate Scott McGill in returning for next season, as they look to knock on the door of Robbie Neilson's first team.

Arron Darge

The 19-year-old defender has enjoyed a strong debut season in senior football since his loan switch to the Lowland League and Gala Fairydean Rovers last summer.

Arron has been a regular starter in Jimmy Scott's Fairydean team and was among the scorers in this month's Borders derby victory over Vale of Leithen - scoring the third goal in a 3-0 win.

The centre-back will now look to continue his sporting development at Hearts next season after a strong campaign in the Scottish Borders.

Aidan Denholm

The 18-year-old midfielder has made a big impact in his loan spell with Berwick Rangers in the Lowland League.

Initially joining on a short-term deal, his performances convinced Berwick boss Stuart Malcolm to extend his time at Shielfield until the end of the season.

Aidan memorably scored a 25-yard strike against Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup, and has provided energy and a  fearsome shot to Berwick's firepower this season.
