Heart of Midlothian is delighted to announce the arrival of Tom Renaud.
The central midfielder joins on a free transfer until 2030, subject to SFA approval & international clearance.
A product of the Lorient Academy, where he featured for the Club’s B team, Renaud got his first taste of professional football when he joined SO Cholet on loan for season 20/21.
Impressing over the course of the season, the 25-year-old amassed 15 appearances, before returning to Cholet for a second loan spell the following season.
29 appearances followed in season 21/22 as Renaud scored his first senior goal, in a 2-1 away victory at Bastia-Borgo.
Following his second loan spell in western France, Renaud made the move permanent in the summer of 2022. Another 63 appearances in the red of SO Cholet followed, before a change of scenery as Tom joined fellow French outfit FC Versailles in summer 2024.
In his debut season, Renaud made 24 appearances as Versailles finished in a disappointing 13th place. A further 32 appearances followed in season 25/26 as Versailles narrowly missing out on promotion.
Tom now crosses the channel and heads to Gorgie just in time for the start of pre-season, as the Jambos head to Spain on Monday for seven-days of warm weather training ahead of their Champions League Qualifier against Sturm Graz.
