New deal for McLuckie

26 April 2023

The left sided wide man signs fresh terms at Tynecastle Park off the back of an outstanding debut season in the professional ranks.

After reaching the Scottish Youth Cup final in 2022 with the Under-18s, Bobby went on to be a regular starter for the club’s B-Team in their maiden Lowland League campaign. Still at the tender age of 16 – he regularly chipped in with goals and assists, earning rave reviews from teammates, coaches and supporters alike.

Bobby continued his development within the first team environment, training with the squad and earning his first spot on the bench in November 2022 against Livingston, before capping off an excellent campaign when he was named B-Team Rising Star of the Year at last weekend’s Player of the Year awards.

A Scotland U17 international, he’s set to represent the country at this summer’s UEFA European Championships in Hungary. Bobby was delighted to maintain his long association with the club and wants to hit even greater maroon milestones going forward

Bobby said “It’s great to sign with Hearts for another three years. It’s been such a busy season and I didn’t expect it at all. The opportunities have come and I always felt I had to take them.

“I want to keep getting on the bench, keep impressing the manager in training and then hopefully getting an opportunity to show what I can do on the pitch.

"I’ve experienced so much since I first joined the club, and I want to experience everything to come.”

Sporting Director Joe Savage said: “It’s very good news that Bobby has committed his future to the club.

“He’s had a really impressive debut season in senior football with the B Team and we were very keen for him to stay and continue his development with us.

“Promoting youth is one of our key targets at the club and Bobby is still a very young player, so to see the progress he and his teammates have made with the B Team is exciting.

“We have a lot of talented players coming through our Academy system and we’ll be agreeing new deals with some in the near future, so watch this space.”
