MD-1 Press in Thun: Wouter Vrancken
04 November 2026Wouter Vrancken is well aware of the challenges awaiting Hearts in Switzerland but believes it’s the prefect opportunity to bounce back from domestic disappointment.
The Jambos meet FC Thun in matchday three of the UEFA Conference League tomorrow evening, knowing points on the board can see a rise up the league phase table.
Facing an FC Thun side buoyed by a 5-4 comeback league win at the weekend, and on a plastic pitch, the Head Coach knows a big performance is required and owed to the supporters.
Speaking at his MD-1 press conference, Wouter said; “They have a good team, they have a lot of energy, they have a lot of intensity.
“They have a direct player who's going fast forward a lot of moments, with a lot of energy, good quality players also in front.
“We have to be spot on, we have to be on our level and to make the result. And the result is to try to get a win here.
“I'm confident in the players that they are mentally ready to play the game, because they showed it already a few times this season that they can bounce back and in performance.
“Concern (about the pitch)? No. We played Falkirk. I think it's similar with Falkirk. So we have to cope with it.
“We don't have to look for excuses in this way. We can now train on it and go full tomorrow.
“I'm not thinking about injuries. I'm just thinking about winning the game."
