Wouter Vrancken and Jamie McCart have previewed Hearts’ UEFA Conference League Play-Off match with SK Rapid.
The Jambo duo met the media this afternoon ahead of tomorrow night’s first leg encounter at Tynecastle Park and both believe the Gorgie atmosphere can play a key role in securing League Phase football.
Vrancken said; “When you play at home, you try and hope that you can take a lead. But it's still in two legs and it's still football.
“So we have to know it's two legs. But again, for our own fans, we want to show something and be competitive. And also not only be competitive, but try to have results tomorrow.
“But we have to have our level and have to show the quality there. Then we can for sure bring something on the pitch tomorrow and show something to the fans. It's our last chance to reach the league phase, so we have to put all in it to try to get there.
“You feel it in the games we played already and I think when we show it on the pitch, like I said, they (the fans) will back us up again and they will also there being fully supportive and pushing us to make this extra step and that's what we need, especially at Tynecastle and to go to Vienna next week.”
McCart said; “I think with any European game you've got to go in with confidence because you know you're playing top opposition and you've got to be positive.
“I think the manager's done quite a lot of work on them with us, but also I think we've got to focus on ourselves, especially being home leg first at Tynecastle.
“We want to get the fans right behind us, generate a positive atmosphere and have a positive result to take back to Austria.
“So, I think if we can go and get a good performance and a positive result to take over there, it would be ideal.”
