Match Report: Livi 2-1 Hearts

10 July 2026

Hearts were edged out 2-1 by Livingston in Scott Pittman’s testimonial match.

Cammy Palmer and Tyrese Sinclair had headed two goals to give the hosts the lead, before Tom Renaud struck to get his first goal in Hearts colours.

It was the second match of the day for Wouter Vrancken, following a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock at Oriam earlier in the afternoon.

The Jambos saw a lot of possession early on with the influential Renaud getting the first sniff of goal, dragging an effort wide from 25-yards.

Moments later he was denied after Calvin Miller broke down the right to cut back but his powerful drive was beaten away by Jerome Prior.

The lively Miller then pounced on a mistake inside the Livi box to find Claudio Braga, but his effort was stopped by Prior.

Captain for the night Harry Milne was next up to take a pop following some strong running forward by Oisin McEntee, he fed Milne who cut inside at the edge of the box before sending a right-foot effort straight into Prior’s arms.

Against the run of play, the hosts took the lead through Palmer on 22 minutes when he met a cross inside the six-yard box to head beyond Ryan Fulton.

Braga would then send a shot high over the bar, following a neat Renaud backheel, before the Portuguese own cutback found Miller but his shot was cleared off the line.

Livi threatened when breaking, with Pittman tearing down the left to find Stevie May but he could only fire over the bar.

With 36 minutes on the clock it was 2-0. Another cross form the left found substitute Sinclair, who steered a header past Fulton and into the back of the net.

Renaud pulled one back before the first half was out. A nice passing move up the park saw the Frenchman follow up on his own saved effort to slam home to make it 2-1.

The Jam Tarts started the second half on the front foot, with substitute Elton Kabangu darting into the box to pull the trigger, only for Pior to deny him at his near post.

Fellow sub Sander Kartum then teed up Miller at the edge of the box but he could only stick his shot wide of Prior’s left-hand post.

McEntee showed great tenacity to win the ball back before hitting a terrific long-range strike that flew inches over the bar and landed on the roof of the net.

The bombardment continued, with Rogers Mato finding Miller inside the box but his low drive was smothered by Prior.

Up the other end, two Livi trialists combined with one crossing for the other two head wide.

Substitute Adam Forrester burst forward to hit a ferocious strike which Prior did well to tip over the bar.

Zander Clark, who came on at half time, made a good stop to deny a Livi trialist late on, showing strong hands to beat his shot away.

With six minutes remaining it could’ve been all square when Kabangu went clean through but he could only steer the ball around the far post.

Another good run out for the Jambos as preparations continue for the Champions League qualifier against Sturm Graz.
