Match Report: Hearts Women 8-1 Hamilton

24 November 2025

Georgia Timms bagged a hat-trick in Hearts Women’s 8-1 rout over Hamilton in the Scottish Power Women’s Premier League at Oriam on Sunday.

Kayla Jardine, Bayley Hutchison, Jenna Slattery and Keri Halliday also got on the scoresheet as the Jambos closed the gap to four points behind league leaders Glasgow City.

It was a special moment for 15-year-old Toni Campbell who came in the second half to make her first team debut for Hearts.

Eva Olid made five changes from the 3-1 Edinburgh Derby victory over Hibernian at Easter Road last weekend.

Carolina Vilao replaced Rachael Johnstone in goal to make her competitive debut for the Jambos, skipper Georgia Hunter returned to replace Lizzie Waldie in defence, Jenna Slattery replaced Joely Andrews in midfield, Kayla Jardine started ahead of Monica Forsyth, and Sade Adamolekun came in for the injured Carly Johns in attack.

The women in maroon opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Eilidh Shore dinked a fantastic ball into the box to find Kayla Jardine, she struck one on her left foot which was saved initially by Halliday, but she followed in to slot home the rebound for 1-0.

Hearts doubled their advantage on 22 minutes. Bayley Hutchison’s low strike was saved by Halliday initially, but the Accies defence failed to clear it from danger and Georgia Timms reacted the quickest to poke it home into the bottom left corner for 2-0.

Two minutes later, Timms was brought down in the box and the referee awarded a penalty. The striker stepped up and coolly dispatched her penalty into the bottom left corner for three.

The visitors pulled a goal back in the 28th minute. After a sloppy pass at the back for the Jambos, Giard followed in and showed composure to dink her effort from just inside the box over the head of Vilao and into the back of the net for 3-1.

Half-time: Hearts 3-1 Hamilton

Hearts looked to continue their good work in the second 45.

In the 69th minute, substitute Keri Halliday started off a great move down the right as she played it to Jardine, who fed it through to Slattery in the box who fired one past Halliday at the near post for 4-1.

On 72 minutes, Keri Halliday took a great touch in the box to bring it down and finished with aplomb into the bottom corner, scoring her first ever goal in maroon as she made it 5-1.

Hutchison made it six in the 74th minute. Timms powered down the right and down to the byline before whipping in the cross, and Hutchison was on hand to power her header home for six.

In the 79th minute, Jenna Slattery played a fantastic through ball with the outside of her foot to find Timms who struck one into the bottom right corner to make it a hat-trick for herself for 7-1.

Hutchison made it eight right at the death. The corner from the left was played short to skipper Hunter who crossed it in and Hutchison headed home past Halliday to make it a brace for herself.

Ultimately, it was a comfortable afternoon for the Jambos as they headed into the international break on a high.
