The Jambos this morning announced the arrival of Dutch right back Jordi Altena, someone McInnes is delighted to have in the building.
Speaking to the media at the pre-match Press Conference, the head coach said:
“He was a player that's been flagged up for a few months now," he explained. The way the model works, it's maybe something that we were potentially looking to do at the end of the season. But it quickly became clear that if we wanted the move, then the likelihood is he wouldn't be there next season. So, we had to make a decision.
“The model and the staff, we all liked what we saw from Jordy. He's a good age and he's somebody who has got a lot of attacking threats from that full-back position and we were delighted to get him in.”
McInnes also provided a positive update on Islam Chesnokov, with the winger due to arrive in Edinburgh on Friday, before watching Saturday’s match against Livingston from the stands.
“Islam will fly in on Friday ahead of the game on Saturday. It's probably going to wait two or three days before we can get him registered. That part we can't control. But we're looking forward to eventually getting him here.”
