Kerjota joins Hearts

22 July 2025

Heart of Midlothian is pleased to announce the signing of Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota.

23-year-old Sabah joins the Jambos on a three-year deal from Italian Serie C side US Sambenedettese for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval.

With 71 goal involvements across the past three seasons, Sabah has been quietly making a name for himself in Italian football.

A product of the youth system of KF Vllaznia Shkoder, one of Albania’s most successful clubs, Sabah made the move to Italy in 2021.

He started hitting the goal trail in 2022/23 with FC Vigor Senigallia, bagging nine and recording 13 assists as they lost out in the play-off final of Serie D.

The following campaign saw an increase in numbers as Sabah scored 10 goals and 16 assists.

A move to Sambenedettese transpired last season and it was a successful one. Sabah’s 10 goals and 13 assists helped fire them to the league title and with it promotion to Serie C.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Head Coach Derek McInnes said; “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to bring Sabah in to give us more options on the wings.

“He’s had a really productive few seasons in Italy and although Scottish football will be a new experience for him, we’ve seen attributes that we feel can make him a success here.

“Sabah will need to do a bit of fitness work to bring him up to speed but I’m looking forward to seeing him on the pitch once he’s ready.”
