Husband duo pen new long-term contracts

13 May 2025

The club is delighted to announce that both Erin and Jess Husband have signed new contracts at the club until the summer of 2028, subject to SFA Approval.

Products of the Hearts Academy since 2019, the duo signed their first professional contracts with the club in April 2024 and haven’t looked back.

Jess has featured 25 times this season predominantly at wing back, meanwhile Erin has featured on 20 occasions in the centre of defence, prior to picking up an injury in the middle of March.

It’s been a memorable season for the 17-year-old twins with Jess scoring her first professional goal for the club and Erin picking up the SWPL POTM in October, as well as being named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year and receiving a nomination for PFA SWPL Young Player of the Year.

Now the pair have pledged their futures to the Jambos by penning new three-year contracts as the club continues to aspire in the women’s game.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website on the news, manager Eva Olid said:

“Erin and Jess have been outstanding for us this season. Not just in terms of their performances, but in the way they carry themselves every day. They are both intelligent players who read the game well, and they’ve shown real maturity beyond their years. Whether it’s stepping up in key moments or bringing energy and consistency to the squad, they’ve made a real impact on and off the pitch.

“What stands out even more is their character. They’re humble, hard-working, and always eager to improve; exactly the type of players every coach wants to work with. To have them commit their long-term future to the club is a huge boost. It shows they believe in what we’re building here, and we believe in them. I’m excited to see how far they can go.”

Women’s Head of Recruitment, Sean Burt added:

“Renewing Erin and Jess on long-term deals is a really important moment for us. They are two of the brightest young prospects in Scottish women’s football and have already demonstrated their ability to contribute at the highest level. Their development so far has been exceptional, and we’re confident that staying at the club will allow them to continue progressing in the right environment.

“This decision reflects more than just our belief in their talent it also shows that they believe in us. We’ve created a pathway that prioritises player development, and having players of their calibre commit to that pathway speaks volumes. It reinforces our vision for the future, where young Scottish talent is supported, challenged, and given the platform to thrive at the top level I’m excited to see what the future holds for both.”
