Heart of Midlothian will welcome La Liga side Rayo Vallecano to Gorgie for a friendly match in July.
Honouring our rich heritage whilst embracing an exciting new era, the UEFA Conference League finalists will take on the Jambos to celebrate the 140th anniversary of Tynecastle Park on Friday, 17th July at 7.45pm.
Rayo Vallecano will be only the fifth Spanish side to grace the Tynecastle turf in its 140-year history, following in the footsteps of Real Zaragoza, Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid and Real Mallorca.
They finished eighth in the Spanish top flight last season, enjoying an incredible run to the final of the Conference League, seeing off AEK Athens and Strasbourg along the way, before being edged out 1-0 by Crystal Palace in Leipzig.
With the boys in maroon set to participate in Champions League qualifiers the following week, facing Austrian side Sturm Graz, the visit of Los Franjirrojos will provide a fitting test ahead of the Jam Tarts’ appearance on the biggest European stage.
Season ticket holders will have an exclusive window to purchase a ticket for the match from 2pm on Thursday (18th), with the Gorgie Stand and Main Stand open initially. A general sale will commence at 10am on Saturday (20th).
