Alex delighted to be back

25 June 2022

The 22-year-old spent last campaign on loan at the Jambos and today signed a permanent deal at Tynecastle Park, joining from Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.

Pulling on the maroon jersey 40 times, and scoring three goals, Alex helped Hearts march towards third place in the cinch Premiership, which guarantees the Jam Tarts European group stage football this term.

Now back on a three-year deal, he insists there is more to come from him as he looks to build upon an impressive maiden season at Hearts.

Speaking to Hearts TV, Alex said: “I just thought it was the right place for me to be. I enjoyed myself a lot last season.

“The team had a great campaign and I want to be part of it again, push on in the league as well as Europe and cup competitions because the squad we’ve got here, we’ve got the capability to do that again.

“That (Europe) is a big, big motivation. Plus, last year I thought I did well but there is more to give from my side. I’m looking forward to getting started and cracking on.”
