Alan Forrest is our first summer recruit

06 January 2022

The 25-year-old winger is set to arrive in Gorgie on June 10 on a two-year-deal, upon the expiration of his contract with Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Alan joins off the back of one of his most productive seasons yet in Scotland; racking up seven goals and four assists for Livi as the Lions consolidated their Premiership status once again.

Born and raised in Ayrshire, Alan graduated from the academy at Ayr United in 2013 and went on to make 245 apperances for the Honest Men before getting a crack at the top flight with Livingston in 2020.

Alan took to the Premiership like a duck to water, quickly making his name as a wide player with electric pace and an eye for goal - securing a top six finish and League Cup final spot in his first season in West Lothian.

Manager Robbie Neilson said: We're delighted to get Alan on board. We watched his performances for Livingston last season and were really impressed. His development over the last 18 months has been excellent, and we knew we wanted him pretty quickly.

"He's quick, direct, and will offer a real threat going forward. Very pleased to have him here."

Sporting Director Joe Savage added: We're delighted. He was one of the main targets that we had when the campaign finished. We're respectful of other clubs, so we didn't want to speak to Alan before the season had concluded.

"Livingston granted us permission to speak and we had a chat with Alan after his holiday. We're delighted to get it signed and sealed, because we think he's going to be a good player for us."
