Macaulay Tait

Macaulay is one of the brightest talents currently in the Hearts academy.

An energetic midfielder, who is comfortable on the ball, Macaulay enjoyed a successful season at the heart of the Hearts B midfield in the Lowland League last season, before progressing into a first team environment. 

Macaulay made his senior debut at Celtic Park in the Jambos' 2-0 victory in December 2023 and has impressed in further outings at Tynecastle Park against Dundee and Aberdeen. 

After featuring in European action for the men in maroon in the first half of season 24/25. Macaulay joined Championship side Livingston on loan in January 2025. 

Tait featured 23 times for David Martindale's side and was a key player in the Lions promotion push which saw them promoted via the play-offs after defeating Ross County over two legs. 

Macaulay was also named Livingston's Young Player of the Year at the West Lothian club's end of season awards.
