Joe Savage continues to build up Hearts’ football department with the appointment of William Lancefield as the club’s new Head of Recruitment.
Formerly of Southampton in England’s Premier League, William takes his up new role with the Jambos from today.
28-years-old, William has already built up a wealth of experience with some of the biggest clubs down south.
After spending time in analyst roles for Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, William became a technical scout for Norwich City in July 2015.
He would spend 16 months at Carrow Road before making the switch to Southampton. During his near five-year stay at St Mary’s he worked as a recruitment analyst before becoming the club’s regional lead scout for the south of the UK.
William now heads Hearts’ recruitment operation, with Sporting Director Joe delighted to have made such an appointment.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Joe said: “This is a crucial role at the club and I’m really happy that we’ve got William on board.
“He’s someone I know well and as such I’m well aware of his talents and the skills he will bring to this club.
“Although this was an appointment that we took a bit of time over because we wanted to get it right, as soon as I knew John Murray was departing I made William my No.1 target.
“I’m certain that in William we’ve got someone who will make a positive impact in the way that we recruit players that can take us forward on the pitch."
