The 25-year-old winger will officially become a Hearts player on June 10 upon the expiration of his contract at the Tony Macaroni Arena, agreeing a switch to Gorgie amidst speculation linking him with various other Premiership sides.

Alan insists thought that Hearts was the only choice as prepares for the next step of his career at the Jambos.

“I’m delighted to be here. When I first heard over the summer that Hearts were interested, I knew straight away that this is where I wanted to come,” he told Hearts TV.

“Hearts had a great season last year, and you could tell they were getting closer to Rangers and Celtic. The league showed that they were a clear third place. I think it’s the right step for me coming from Livingston to kick on.

“I had a good chat with Robbie about what his plans for me were and where I would fit in, and I have to say, it was a really positive conversation. I came away from it thinking that this is exactly where I want to go.

“I felt like I had some really good times at Livingston, but felt I was ready to take that next step. Playing at Tynecastle is going to be huge for me. It was obviously a different experience when I came through with Livingston, but now being able to play in front of Hearts fans is something that really excites me. I can’t wait for it.”
