Penrice wants to make memories in maroon
19 November 2024James Penrice has spoken of his desire to make his mark in maroon before one day pulling on the dark blue jersey of Scotland.
The marauding left-back joined Hearts TV for the first in an exclusive series called 'Stories', where he spoke candidly about his footballing journey from boys’ club to Tynecastle Park, his ambitions for the future and what the Jam Tarts need to do to get back on track domestically.
He told Hearts TV; “I want the club to do so well. I don't want to come into Hearts and remember, when I finish my career, a time that wasn't successful. I want it to be a successful time. I want it to be remembered when I leave.
“But for me, I think playing for Scotland is one of my dreams. And I think I see no reason why I can't. I think it'll be definitely difficult. It'll be more hard work. But for me, that's one of my aims.
“And for this season alone, I think... we just need to go and put a good run of form together.
“It's just that last bit that we've not seemed to crack yet. And I think you seen it against St Mirren. We were brilliant, but maybe at Rangers last weekend, we should probably walk away with something more.
“That's telling for us going to a place like Ibrox. There should be no fear because we're a big club and we want to go to these places and go and take points.”
