Neil on Dundee victory
07 December 2024Neil Critchley was full of praise for his Hearts side after they defeated Dundee 2-0 at Tynecastle Park on Saturday afternoon.
A Lawrence Shankland brace inspired the Jambos to three points, with the boss pleased to see the skipper back among the goals.
With another busy week ahead for the Jambos, Neil was pleased to see Hearts begin preparations in the best manner possible.
“I thought the first half we started very well on the front foot, playing forward, passing forward, running forward. I think we got some corners and created one or two decent opportunities,” he told Hearts TV.
“Obviously delighted for Shanks to score; a good header and a good move actually, the way the goal came about. Moved the ball through the pitch: We finds Spitts in between the lines and Jamesy picks up off his rebound and recycles the ball. Great cross from Penners and Shanks is there, great header.
“So, to score two goals, both from Shanks, Jamesy making his first start, Craigy’s kept his 100th clean sheet today. Three points is a good day for us.”
