LNER extends Hearts partnership
09 January 2025Heart of Midlothian Football Club is delighted to announce the extension of our successful partnership with London North Eastern Railway, LNER will continue as our Official Train Partner until June 2025.
As part of this renewed agreement, LNER’s presence will be even more prominent within Tynecastle Park on matchdays, with enhanced branding across various stadium touchpoints including our LED pitch side boards, the big screen countdown to kick-off, static signage, and the press desk fronts. Fans will also see LNER’s involvement on our digital platforms, most notably through their sponsorship of our “Happy Birthday” posts for past and present players.
Furthermore, this partnership extends beyond brand visibility and underscores LNER’s dedication to supporting local communities, together, LNER and Hearts’ Community Coaching and Football Development department will be launching a brand-new Community Football Programme. This initiative will allow local youngsters to get closer to the club, whilst fostering their football development and creating deeper community ties.
Supporters that visited the Edinburgh Christmas Markets in East Princes Street Gardens over the festive period would have also had the opportunity to see the new LNER branded Big Wheel, emphasising LNER’s growing commitment across the city of Edinburgh.
Speaking on the partnership, Hearts’ Director of Commercial and Marketing, Catriona McCallum said; “We’re delighted to continue growing our partnership with LNER, which has gone from strength to strength since we began working together 2 seasons ago.
"Not only is it great to have such prominent LNER branding at Tynecastle on a matchday, but to have their backing and support towards our community football programmes means a great deal to the football club, and we can’t wait to see the programme get underway.”
Alan White, Head of Community at Hearts added; “LNER’s fantastic support of our football programme will help provide increased participation opportunities for young people in our community to engage in additional physical activity. This backing provides us with a great opportunity to create some great environments for children who choose to play football, where we hope to foster a life-long participation and involvement in the game.”
David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said; “Supporting the local communities based along our route is one of LNER’s core values, so continuing our relationships with Hearts and Hibs is great news.
We were incredibly proud to be lead sponsor for the Big Wheel in East Princes Street Gardens over the Christmas period. Working with the city’s football teams throughout 2025 is just one way we will be continuing our support for this fantastic city.
