Robbie Neilson has strengthened his squad for the 2020/21 season with the signing of experienced winger Elliott Frear.
The 29-year-old Englishman has penned a one-year deal at Tynecastle, subject to international clearance, following the expiration of his contract at Forest Green Rovers.
Elliott returns to Scotland less than a year after leaving Motherwell, having spent the best part of two and a half seasons at Fir Park. He netted 8 times in 74 first team appearances during his time there, playing a key role in the Steelmen’s run to the final in both the Scottish Cup and League Cup.
He began his career at Exeter City before enjoying spells with Salisbury City and Forest Green Rovers, where he made 130 senior appearances prior to moving to Motherwell in 2017. He then re-joined Forest Green on a short-term deal last year.
Elliott will now join up with the Hearts squad as they continue to gear up for the new season.
