Joel Pereira said he is looking forward to making his debut after manager Craig Levein confirmed the new signing is set to start against Motherwell.
The 23-year-old keeper signed from Manchester United on a season-long loan earlier this week and is set to be pitched in as the gaffer revealed he planned to rotate his keepers.
"It's a great opportunity for myself to be here at this big club," Joel told the media. "I'm looking forward to it, I will give my best and hopefully great things will happen."
Now, the Swiss-born stopper is on course to make his debut at Fir Park in the Betfred Cup on Friday night.
"I'm looking forward to it. I'm grateful for the opportunity that the manager has given me. Hopefully, we can come out with the win. That's what we'll try to do."
This is Joel's fifth loan after spells at Rochdale, Belenenses, Vitoria de Setubal, and Kortrijk.
"I've seen different types of first-team football in different countries. It made me grow as a man and as a football player. I got some more experience."
He has made three first-team appearances for the Red Devils to date and still has his eyes set on the number one jersey at Old Trafford - but says he is fully concentrating on life at Tynecastle for the moment.
"When you're under contract at Manchester Utd and you go somewhere, your idea has to be to get the best out of it and get back better, stronger, with more experience and more confidence, so you can go back a better person and better footballer.
"My focus right now is here, at the club. I'm fully focused on it, I want to give my best to the club and the manager who gave me the opportunity to come here. I'm taking it step-by-step. Now, my focus is on tomorrow. Hopefully I can do great and we'll think about the next game."
