Hearts extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship to sixteen points despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Arbroath.
At a blustery Gayfield, the Jambos failed to find the net for the first time in the league this season as the hosts earned a hard-fought point.
Hearts named an unchanged side for the third game running as Armand Gnanduillet partnered Liam Boyce up front, but the forwards struggled to link up as Arbroath kept the Jambos penned in with the wind.
There was a good chance early on for Arbroath when a ball was crossed in from the right wing and knocked back across goal by Bobby Linn, but Kris Doolan blasted over with the goal gaping.
At the other end, Michael Smith whipped in a good ball from the right but Gnanduillet headed narrowly wide.
That was as good as it got in the first half as the elements took over proceedings. Hearts began to threaten more in the second half, and Gnanduillet popped up at the other end to clear a dangerous ball on a rare Arbroath attack.
Gnanduillet then had the first Hearts shot on target of the match when Boyce played it to him outside the area, but his low shot was comfortably saved. Midway through the half, Hearts came agonisingly close when an Andy Irving free kick was sliced over the bar from a few yards out by Little.
Moments later, the best chance of the game arrived. The ball was fired across goal and Boyce back heeled it on target, it was cleared off the line and then Gnanduillet’s header was deflected away to safely. From the resulting corner, Gnanduillet headed wide.
The last chance came with 15 minutes to go when Irving whipped a corner in, but Mihai Popescu headed over as Arbroath settled for their point and lined up in a strong defensive line to see out time.
