Hearts Women remain top of the league

28th October 2019

Hearts Women secured a point on the road yesterday as the battle for promotion nears its exciting conclusion.

The Jambos came from behind at Kilmanrock to bag a point and maintain a three-point lead at the top of SWPL 2.

The hosts took a first-half lead through Lisa Swanson’s close-range finish but were pegged back with 20 minutes remaining when Rachel Walkingshaw pounced on a loose ball inside the Killie box to rifle into the bottom right corner.

Second-placed Hamilton Academical also drew on Sunday, meaning the gap stands at three points with only two games left to play.

Hearts are back in action this Sunday when they host Glasgow Girls at Oriam, kick off is 3.30pm.

The final match of the league season takes place two weeks later with the Jambos hosting Partick Thistle at Tynecastle Park.
