Eilidh joins Jambos

27 June 2024

Eilidh Shore has today become Hearts Women's second summer signing, penning a deal until the summer of 2026.

The central midfielder has spent the last five years with Aberdeen, where she amassed over 150 appearances during her time in the Granite City.

Despite being just 22 years old, Shore has bags of experience from her time at Aberdeen, but has also featured for Scotland U17s, U19s and U23s.

She follows her former Aberdeen teammate Bayley Hutchison down to Tynecastle, joining on a two-year-deal with the option for a further 12 months included.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

“We’re delighted Eilidh has made the decision to join us here at Hearts. I see her as an all-round complete midfielder and again, for our style of play, I think she will thrive in this team.

“Similar to Bayley, I’ve been able to watch her multiple times. In particular, her performance against us last season in Aberdeen was excellent. We spoke a fair while back and immediately, we had a good feeling that this move would be a perfect fit for both parties.

“Aberdeen’s style of play last season was really positive. They tried to build from the back and play with the ball. Eilidh was a real standout in that and I’m looking forward to working with her.”

Women’s head of recruitment Sean Burt added:

“Like Bayley, Eilidh has been a standout now for a few seasons and with that comes a lot of competition for her signature. So we’re delighted that she’s chosen Hearts and we feel this is another signing that highlights the positive trajectory of the club.

“Eilidh has conducted herself with complete professionalism throughout this process and I have no doubt she’ll fit seamlessly into the environment here at Oriam.

“Repeating what Eva said, we see Eilidh as an all-round midfielder. Comfortable building out from the back under pressure, tenacious out of possession and in the final third, she can contribute with assists and goals due to her fantastic technical ability. I’m very much looking forward to seeing her performances in a maroon jersey.”

Welcome to Hearts, Eilidh!
