Alex Jones

Alex was on the Hearts Youth Development Committee from its inception in 1991 until its closure in 2018.

A much-loved and well-respected figure within the Hearts community, the club would like to offer its sincerest condolences to Alex’s family and friends.

Callum Robertson, former HYDC Chairman, has offered the following tribute to his friend and colleague.

Alex was a founder member of Hearts Youth Development Committee in 1991. He was treasurer and continued in that role for 25 years until HYDC closed down.

Alex loved everything about Hearts and was especially passionate about the Hearts academy.

He always had an opinion about all things Hearts and wasn’t shy in voicing it. No matter his opinion it came from his love of the club.

Alex was well known by many Hearts fans and, until his illness, attended all games home and away.

I hope Alex is at peace now. He will be missed by many.
