The Tynecastle duo both started in the Socceroos’ play-off final match against Peru, which saw the Aussies emerge victorious after a dramatic penalty shootout win following a 0-0 draw.

Kye put in a man of the match performance in only his third appearance for the senior side, while Nathaniel also won his third cap.

The pair, along with Jambos midfielder Cammy Devlin, will hope to make manager Graham Arnold’s squad for the finals, which take place in November in Qatar.

Australia will open up their Group D campaign on November 22nd against France before facing Tunisia four days later. Their final group match sees them take on Denmark on November 30th.

Meanwhile, Craig Gordon could win his 69th cap for Scotland when they face Armenia this evening in the Nations League.

Steve Clarke’s side lock horns with the Armenians in Yerevan at 5pm and will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Republic of Ireland.
