Gavin Reilly is desperate to build on his performance against Celtic and help fire Hearts to victory over Dundee United tomorrow night.
The former Queen of the South player started up front against the champions on Sunday and was singled out for praise by Head Coach Robbie Neilson after the game. Speaking to Hearts TV on Tuesday, Gavin said:
“I was glad to get a start against Celtic and I thought I performed well. We’re getting closer to challenging Celtic as a team, but we’re just up from the Championship so it’s about pushing on and progressing.
“Hopefully I’m given a chance again on Wednesday. Like I said, I contributed well on Sunday but hopefully I could top that off with a goal against United.
“It’ll be a tough game, though. They never had a match at the weekend so they might be a bit fresher than us, but we’re playing at home at a packed Tynecastle so we need to be taking all three points.
Gavin is particularly keen to playing alongside Osman Sow again, with the pair having formed a partnership up front against Celtic.
“Osman’s got pace and power but he’s a genius on the ball as well, he’s got a bit of everything. He’s a great guy to play alongside so hopefully we can make it work on Wednesday."
