2nd May 2016

Tynecastle redevelopment to cost £11-12 million, with over 50% of funding already in place.

Ann Budge tonight revealed that over 50% of funding for Hearts’ proposed new Main Stand is already in place, with the total cost of redeveloping Tynecastle Stadium estimated at between £11-12 million.

Supporters attended the Gorgie Suite to listen to the owner and chair’s presentation, followed by a Q&A session as the club enters into a period of public consultation.

Fans were told that the club will announce how the rest of the project will be funded shortly, prior to formal plans for the Main Stand being submitted.

Hearts has been in discussion with the Foundation of Hearts, who are aware of how the project will be funded.

Subject to planning and health and safety approval being granted, the club anticipates that the day first team run out in front of the new Main Stand for the first time, it will be completely paid for, with no bank debt at all.

Again, subject to planning and HSE approval, the club believes the Main Stand – giving the ground a total capacity of under 21,000 - will be ready and open for September 2017.
