Hearts beat Rangers 2-1 at Ibrox on Sunday in an astonishing match.
The Jambos lead through skipper Danny Wilson's second-half header, but Rangers equalised in the 90th minute through Nicky Law. Seconds after, Osman Sow restored Hearts' lead and gave the men in maroon a well deserved victory.
Robbie Neilson set his side out in an attacking manner, with Sam Nicholson and Billy King providing the ammunition for Dale Carrick and Osman Sow, while Jordan McGhee slotted in at right-back.
Rangers attempted to make home advantage count in the opening stages, enjoying plenty of the ball. Kris Boyd nearly rolled home after Neil Alexander was caught in possession, but the Hearts no. 1 regained his composure to make the save.
The Jambos had a cracking a chance to test Cammy Bell in the Rangers goal after Sow showed sublime skill to send King through, but with too much pace on the ball it ran into Bell's arms.
The Gers should've taken the lead in 19 minutes. Lewis MacLeod danced his way through the Hearts backline before feeding Kenny Miller, his shot was deflected into the path of David Templeton but with the goal at his mercy, he ballooned his header clean over the bar.
Both sides looked to get the ball forward as quickly as possible, with Sow looking particularly dangerous with the ball at his feet. Hearts had a half chance in the 39th minute when Danny Wilson played an inviting ball across the face of goal, but the outstretched Alim Ozturk couldn't make the connection.
Minutes later another cross was sent over, this time courtesy of Sow, but Nicholson's header was weak and into Bell's arms.
Hearts made the best start possible in the second half by taking the lead. A King corner was met by Wilson, who powered home a header from outside the six-yard box.
From thereon, Rangers tried desperately to get back into the game. Each time, however, they were met by a resolute Hearts defence which had lost the services of goalkeeper Alexander after a head-knock, Scott Gallacher replacing the former Ibrox man.
The match ended in spectacular fashion. Nicky Law struck to give the home side the equalizer in the 90th minute, but immediately after the restart Nicholson slipped in Sow and he slotted past Bell from an acute angle to restore the Jambos' lead.
An absolutely wonderful result for the Jam Tarts and a real statement of intent; the revival has started.
