Callum Paterson has revealed that there is no better feeling than running out at a packed Tynecastle and can’t wait to do it when the season starts after fans snapped up 13,000 season tickets.
The full-back knows the step up to the Premiership will be a challenge, but having the Gorgie faithful behind him will be crucial as the Jambos aim high.
Speaking at his shark dive as Deep Sea World became an official supporter of the club’s Junior Jambos kids club, Callum said: “Selling 13,000 season tickets is unbelievable. It’s a great achievement, not for the players but for the fans. The way they supported us last season and to carry it on into this year is great. It’s great for the players and great for everyone around the club.
“To run out in front of a full Tynecastle gives you a wee bit of shivers, to be fair. It’s a great feeling and it puts a smile on your face before kick-off has even started.
“The Championship’s a totally different league to the Premiership, with different players and different styles of play so hopefully we can play our own game and beat the teams on their own turf.
“We’ve got to push ourselves. We did really well in the Championship last year but that was the Championship, so hopefully we can at least achieve top six and if not further than that.
“I’ve been kicking a ball about with my wee brother and pals but it’s not been the same as kicking a ball about with the big boys. Hopefully I can play as well as I did last year.”
