Joe Savage | Summer Update

Our Sporting Director spoke to Hearts TV to preview what, and who, the coming months could bring to Tynecastle.
 
Alan Forrest and Kye Rowles have already signed up to Robbie Neilson’s European tour, while Peter Haring agreed a new contract that will see him remain at Tynecastle until the summer of 2023.
 
It’s been a frantic start to the summer, and the busiest man in Gorgie won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
 
“I’m certainly going to be busy! There’s a lot we need to do, with a lot of positions needing filled. Robbie and I are in constant dialogue. I’d say we have a few irons in the fire that we’re working on,” said Joe.
 
“We know where we need to strengthen, but we’ve always stressed that it’s quality over quantity. We need to make sure we get the right players in. We obviously have the European campaign to come, and we want to try and do one better in the league campaign this season.
 
“We want to go further in the cup competitions and try and win them. We need to have a bigger squad but it needs to be a better squad. That’s the aim and ambition for us.”
