Hearts are delighted to announce a long-term agreement with UK-based performance technology giants STATSports.
The multi-year partnership will see the Hearts first-team squad use STATSports award-winning Apex Pro Series and Sonra 3.0 software to aid player development, maximise squad performance and mitigate injury risk.
What exactly does this look like? You’ll have noticed the players wearing black vests during training in video and images across our social channels. This is STATSports’ tracking devices, worn in a performance vest between the shoulder blades, that monitor multiple physical movement metrics including total max speed, running distance, high-speed running distance, intensity, and fatigue.
The data can be collected both post-session and live using iPad and smart watches, allowing Hearts’ performance team to make reliably informed, real-time decisions while the action happens.
Having made a terrific start to the season, currently topping the table, the club have already seen the benefit of having a world class performance analysis platform in place.
Additionally, the technology is also available to all football players through STATSports’ individual GPS tracker, Apex Athlete Series at statsports.com. Players, parents, and coaches can get real-time data at their fingertips via a smartphone app and establish next steps to enhance physical performance.
Bob McCunn, Hearts’ Head of Performance, was delighted with the partnership: “STATSports have been supplying their products to the biggest clubs in the UK for several years now so it’s fantastic for our team to be able to use the best technology in the industry.
“The data accuracy is phenomenal and allows us to optimally prepare our squad for what has already been a hectic season,” added McCunn.
Sean O’Connor, Co-Founder of STATSports added, “It’s fantastic to have the brand calibre of Hearts join our client roster. Obviously they’re one of the biggest clubs in Scotland and we’re looking forward to seeing them return to their place at the top table of Scottish football.”
STATSports are also official suppliers to the Scotland national team and English Premier League outfits such as champions Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City, plus European heavyweights live Juventus and PSG.
