Andy Halliday says confidence is high inside the Hearts dressing room as the countdown to the Scottish Cup Semi-Final continues.
The Jambos face Hibs at Hampden on Saturday with the winner returning to the national stadium in December for the Final against either Aberdeen or Celtic.
The men in maroon have enjoyed a superb start to the 2020/21 campaign, winning all five of their opening games.
Andy believes that the unbeaten run, coupled together with the quality and experience of the Hearts squad, will stand the Jam Tarts in good stead come this weekend.
“There’s a lot of self-belief in the squad,” he said. “You just look at the quality of the players we’ve got on our books and experience of these big occasions and these cup games.
“People might look at us as the underdogs but we’ve got a lot of ability in the squad and a lot of belief that we can go there and try to get the win.
“I think it’s important that we just try to take care of ourselves. We’ve started the season well, we’ve won all of the games we’ve been a part of, so it’s a good game to try and continue that streak.
“It’s a derby, it’s a cup semi-final, it’s the occasions you look forward to as a football player. You want to be part of these big games. It’s a big part of the reason I signed here, for these big games.
“It would mean a lot to win this game. It would mean a lot for myself, it would mean a lot for the players, it would mean a lot for the club. You play any game and you want to win, but a cup semi-final and a derby is that little bit more important.”
