Armed Forces Day

Hearts will officially sign the Armed Forces Covenant this coming Sunday.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club is delighted to announce that it will be signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

In line with the Club’s ethos of working closely with individuals and organisations in the community, Heart of Midlothian is committed to supporting the Armed Forces Community and will formally sign the Armed Forces Covenant prior to this Sunday’s Betfred Cup match against Inverness CT.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club will endeavor in its business dealings to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which are:

  • No member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen
  • In some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate especially for the injured or bereaved.

Upon signing the Armed Forces Covenant, the Club will commit to a range of pledges, one of which is to designate one home fixture per season as Armed Forces Day. The first annual Armed Forces Day at Tynecastle Park will be held this coming Sunday when Hearts host Inverness CT in the final Betfred Cup Group Stage match.

The day will comprise of the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant and the Club will welcome guests from all three Services to Tynecastle Park. The three Services will also have a number of displays on the Foundation Plaza and supporters are encouraged to stop for a chat and to find out more about the role of our Armed Forces.
