Back to basics

22 June 2023

The Jambos welcome St. Mirren to Tynecastle Park tomorrow after a run of defeats to Celtic, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

Whilst frustrated on a personal leve by the team's current run of form, the defender admits that the only way Hearts can put things right is by picking up three points against the Buddies on Saturday.

"We were disappointed, but we’ve spoken about it as a group and are now looking to get back to a place where we know we can be,” he told the media ahead of the game. “We’re ready for the weekend, and know that we need to show up and get the three points.

“As a group of players, we know that there are certain areas that need improvement. At the weekend, we need to make sure we do it right and that’s the main thing. It’s about getting back to basics, getting the desire back for the whole 90 minutes.

“When you play for Hearts you have to always look to go forward with a positive mindset. We’ve got eight games left so now it’s about building momentum back up again and ending the season on that positive note.

“You’re always going to get criticism and the only way to address that is by going out at the weekend and putting in a performance. We know what we need to do, starting this weekend.”
