Liam penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Jambos during the January transfer window.

A well-known face in Scottish football thanks to his goalscoring exploits at Ross County, Liam started his career with Northern Irish side Cliftonville and scored 16 goals in his debut campaign in 2009/10, earning him the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Player of the Year Award.

His form attracted Bundesliga giants Werder Bremen and they took him to the Weserstadion in August 2010.

With first team action limited, Liam returned to Cliftonville in January 2012. The following season saw the Belfast-born lad bag 30 goals in 38 games as Cliftonville lifted their first league title since 1998. He was again voted Player of the Year by the football writers in addition to being crowned Ulster Footballer of the Year.

The success continued with Liam’s 21 goals helping Cliftonville to retain their title the following season, before a move across the water to Dingwall materialised in the summer of 2014.

In his three years in the Highlands, Liam bagged a total of 55 goals, with his haul of 23 in 2016/17 making him the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer. He was also part of the Ross County side that defeated Hibs in the 2015/16 League Cup Final at Hampden as the Staggies secured their first-ever major trophy.

Burton Albion made a record-breaking move to acquire Liam services in June 2017, though disaster would strike in pre-season when a knee injury ruled him out for the majority of the campaign.

He picked up where he left off in 2018/19, scoring 14 goals for the Brewers and this season saw him hit another 14 goals before committing his future to Hearts.

Liam became an instant hit with the fans after scoring the winner against Rangers on his debut in maroon.
