Shankland's PFA Prize

06 May 2024

Lawrence Shankland was last night crowned as the PFA’s Premiership Player of the Year, as voted for by his fellow professionals.

The skipper beat off competition from James Tavernier, Jack Butland, and Matt O’Riley to scoop the gong – becoming the first Hearts player to win in the award’s history, and only the second outside the Glasgow two since 1990.

A force of nature wearing the maroon this season, Lawrence’s goals and performances have been instrumental as the Jambos ran away with third place in the cinch Premiership – notching a blistering 28 goals in all competitions along the way.

The latest accolade caps off a fine season for our number nine, who recently scooped both Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Year award at the club’s ceremony at the EICC last month.
