Northern Ireland internationalist Conor Washington was a summer transfer window acquisition.
The 27-year-old striker joined the Jambos on a two-year deal as a free agent after being part of the Sheffield United squad that won promotion to the Premier League last season.
A strong, pacey and skillful front man, Conor has found the back of the net regularly throughout his career in the domestic game, with his goals to minutes played ratio equalling one strike every three games.
Since catching the eye at non-league St Ives Town back in 2012, he’s gone on to star for Newport County, Peterborough – playing alongside fans’ favourite Michael Smith – Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United, commanding transfer fees totaling over £3.5million.
He’s proven a hit on the international scene since making his Northern Ireland debut in 2016, scoring in his second and third appearances – against Slovenia and Belarus, respectively – and featured in every game for Michael O’Neill’s side in the Euro 2016 Finals in France, where they narrowly lost out 1-0 to Wales in the Round of 16.
Conor was the hero for Northern Ireland earlier this month, scoring the equaliser in Estonia before Josh Magennis bagged a late winner to keep the Green and White Army top of their Euro 2020 qualifying group with four wins from four, ahead of both Germany and Holland.
Now a Hearts player for the next two seasons, Conor will wear the coveted no.9 jersey for the 2019/20 campaign.
