Christophe returned home to Gorgie in the summer of 2017, after eight years plying his trade down south.
He made himself at Tynecastle with a first-team debut back in 2003, before reaching double figures in appearances in 2004/05 and 2005/06.
With a Scottish Cup winner's medal in his back pocket he became a mainstay of the Hearts side that finished fourth the following season, and was handed the captain's armband in 2007.
His performances caught the eye of watching suitors, and on the final day of the 2009 January transfer window Christophe moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He helped Woves gain promotion to the English Premier League and spent three seasons playing regularly in the top flight, before the Midlands side finally succumbed to relegation in 2012.
After more than 150 games for Wolves, Christophe signed for Ipswich Town in 2013, reuniting with former manager Mick McCarthy. The big defender spent four years at Portman Road, racking up 185 appearances and scoring 14 goals.
In the summer of 2017 Christophe returned to Hearts, signing a three-year deal.
In December 2018, the centre-back reached 200 games for the club - making him the 74th man to achieve the maroon milestone. One month later he penned a new deal, extending his contract by a year to take it up to 2021.
