Aidy signed for Hearts in March 2019, and after two-and-a-half years out injured he finally made his return in August.
Aidy started his career at local side Leeds as, despite representing Ireland at under-21 level, he was born in the West Yorkshire market town of Otley.
He joined the Whites as an 11-year-old and would make his debut for the first team aged only 16, breaking into the team alongside fellow youth star Fabian Delph. He would go on to win YPOTY and was linked with Newcastle United and Celtic.
Unfortunately, injuries would curtail his Peacocks' career and after a loan spell at Sheffield United and one further appearance at Leeds, he joined local rivals Rotherham in 2015.
His spell at the Millers was short-lived and he joined Barnsley, on loan and then permanently, where he won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and the League One Play-off Final.
He initially picked up caps for England's under-19 side, but switched his allegiance to Ireland in 2011.
After an injury in January 2017, he left in May of that year having not played another game. His mystery injury would keep him out of action for a long time, but in March 2019 he signed for Hearts and hasn't looked back since.
He made his debut in August 2019, starting in a 0-0 draw with Ross County and playing the entire 90 minutes.
