Chris Hamilton's Scotland U21s suffer Toulon Tournament semi-final defeat at hands of England.

Chris Hamilton’s Scotland U21s exited the Toulon Tournament at the semi-final stage last night after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of England.

The young Scots took a first-half lead through Celtic youngster Mikey Johnston’s superb solo goal but were pegged back in the second-half by Everton full-back Callum Connoly’s equaliser, before Arsenal’s Edward Nketiah’s brace clinched the win.

Jambos defender Hamilton was an unused substitute but will have another opportunity to add to his two appearances at the tournament on Saturday when Scotland face Turkey in the third-place play off.

Scotland finished third in last year’s tournament with a 3-0 win over Czech Republic.
