What started out as a collection to buy a congratulatory bunch of flowers ended up as a work of art.
The Gorgie Noise – a prominent Hearts supporters group – planned to raise funds to purchase and present a bouquet of flowers to club owner Ann Budge following the club’s record-breaking Championship win.
After being overwhelmed by donations, Gorgie Noise’s Paul Harthill decided to take a different route and commissioned an artist to paint the magical moment when the triumphant Jambos received the league trophy.
Paul Town took only a week to paint the magnificent canvas, which was presented to Ann by Paul and Christopher MacBeth (pictured) on behalf of the Gorgie Noise at Tynecastle last week.
Leftover funds will be used to buy congratulatory bottles for Head Coach Robbie Neilson and Director of Football Craig Levein.
A Hearts spokesperson said: “This was a fantastic gesture which was warmly received by Ann.
“It shows the real community spirit that exists amongst the wonderful Hearts support and the club would like to thank everyone involved with the Gorgie Noise for these thoughtful tokens of appreciation.”
