Winning start for Reid

Young Hearts full-back Aaron Reid helps Scotland U17s get off to winning start in Euro Championship Finals.

Hearts’ Aaron Reid made a second-half substitute appearance as Scotland U17s kicked off their European Championship Finals with a win over Faroe Islands.

The young left-back, a mainstay of the Jambos’ U20s side this season, entered the field of play in the 76th minute after replacing the injured Glenn Middleton.

He helped the young Scots to keep a clean sheet in their opening Group B game in Croatia, with goals from Innes Cameron and Jack Aitchison winning Scot Gemmill’s side all three points.

Scotland face Hungary – who defeated France 3-2 – on Saturday in a top of the table clash.
