Hearts U20s lost out 3-1 away to Celtic in last night’s Development League encounter at Cappielow.
The Wee Jambos took a first-half lead through Rorry Currie, but were sunk by a six-minute goal blitz with Celtic’s Jamie McCart bagging a double either side of Broque Watson’s strike.
The hosts cracked the crossbar through Joe Thomson’s free-kick on 10 minutes but it was Hearts who broke the deadlock after 35 minutes, when Currie hit the top corner from inside the box.
Kelby Mason saved his second penalty in as many Development League games, denying Thomson from the spot before saving the rebound too.
Celtic then got back on level terms in the 51st minute when McCart met Thomson’s free-kick, before Broque’s low drive put them in front two minutes later.
The game was then wrapped up in the 57th minute courtesy of McCart’s half-volley, though the Wee Jambos forced a brace of good saves out of Leo Fasan late on.
Jon Daly’s side are back in action next Monday when they host Ross County at Ochilview.
