The Wee Jambos take on East Stirlingshire in the Third Round of the Little Big Shot Scottish Youth Cup on Friday night.
Tomorrow’s match is an 8pm kick off and takes place at Stenhousemuir’s Ochilview Park, where fans can watch the third round tie free of charge.
East Stirlingshire beat Falkirk 3-1 in the previous round of the competition and Hearts coach Liam Fox, who will take charge of the U20s on the night, is expecting a tough tie. Speaking to Hearts News on the eve of the game, Liam said:
“The Youth Cup is a prestigious tournament and we’ve got a tough tie on our hands tomorrow night. East Stirling are a decent side, they put Falkirk out in the last round and we are expecting a very tough game.
“As it’s a knock-out competition, the focus is slightly different for the boys and we’re really looking forward to it. In the league it’s all about developing as a team and individuals, but tomorrow the focus is mainly on getting through to the next round.”
Liam is also hopeful that some fans will be tempted to come along and take advantage of the free admission on the night.
“The players appreciate any support that comes along. I understand it’s difficult on a Friday night, but it would be great to see a few fans there and it would make it all the more special for the boys.”
