Hearts U20s were held to a 1-1 draw against St Mirren on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wee Jambos started brightly and caused the hosts all sorts of problems during the opening 25 minutes. Dario Zanatta went close on several occasions, before eventually finding the back of the net on 21 minutes.
Some fine build-up play between Liam Henderson and Soufian El Hassnaoui resulted in the young Canadian firing a shot beyond the keeper from 14 yards out.
The Saints eventually picked up the pace but never really looked like scoring during an evenly matched second-half. They did find an equaliser late on, however, as Barry Cuddihy fired home from close range following a goalmouth scramble. Danny Swanson was then sent off in injury-time for a second bookable offence.
The Wee Jambos are back in action next Monday at 7pm when they face Motherwell at Ochilview Park.
