Wee Jambos edged out

26th November 2014

Oliver strikes for visitors but late winner denies battling youngsters.

Hearts U20s went down 2-1 at Falkirk in last night’s league meeting.

The home side was on top in the opening period, Jack Hamilton producing a couple of excellent saves.

Nine minutes after the interval, the hosts opened the scoring when Kevin O’Hara netted.

The lead didn’t last long, though, with the Wee Jambos hitting back immediately when Gary Oliver turned home a cross from Aaron Scott.

The visitors then enjoyed their best period of the game but couldn’t convert the chances created. And they were left disappointed when Falkirk snatched victory five minutes from time when Robbie McNab blasted home from 25 yards out.

Hearts U20s: Hamilton, L. Smith, Henderson, Gordon, McKirdy, Buchanan, Scott (I. Smith), Keatings (Flanagan), Oliver (Roy), Beith.  Subs not used: Brown, Page.
