Hearts U20s suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Partick Thistle on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wee Jambos travelled to Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium to take on the Maryhill side, but found themselves a goal down inside the first minute.
Antonio German latched on to a slack back pass and unselfishly teed up Kevin Nisbet who fired a shot beyond the keeper. Hearts struggled to create much during the first half, but Ian Smith went close with a shot into the side-netting.
The hosts then doubled their lead shortly before the half-hour mark, as a scramble in the box saw the ball drop to Dominic Docherty who fired home from close range.
Jon Daly's side stepped it up a gear in the second-half and Robbie Buchanan very nearly pulled one back when his header came crashing off the bar. That was as close as they would come however, with the hosts running out 2-0 winners in the end.
