Hearts U20s returned to winning ways with a resounding 3-0 victory over Hamilton Academical on Monday evening.
Jon Daly's young side produced a fine performance at Ochilview and could have taken the lead on 9 minutes, however, the goal was ruled out as Harry Cochrane strayed offside.
The breakthrough came just before the half-hour mark when a low ball in from the left came off Rico Quitongo and the Accies man duly put the ball into his own net.
Andy Irving then doubled the Wee Jambos' advantage a few minutes later. Cochrane teed up Irving who steered a shot beyond the keeper.
Hearts then put the game to bed five minutes before full-time when Rory Currie fired a shot past the keeper from just inside the box.
Next up for the U20s is an away tie against Kilmarnock next Wednesday (kick-off 5.30pm).
Hearts: Mason, Godinho, Hamilton, Jones, Reid, Paton, Cochrane (Petkov '75), McDonald, Irving (Leonard '75), Zanatta, Currie. Subs not used: Gajda, K. Smith, Baxter.
