Daniel Stendel believes his team made it too easy for Kilmarnock as the Ayrshire men took all three points at Tynecastle on Wednesday night.
Despite Hearts' bright start to the game, the visitors took the lead against the run of play and found themselves 2-0 up at the interval. A third goal arrived minutes into the second half and, despite a spirited late comeback, Daniel's men suffered a 3-2 defeat.
“It was a crazy game, maybe it was intense for the supporters, but it was not how we want to play, and after the penalty we got the chance to come back. We had some situations but ultimately we didn’t do enough to get points today, and it is a disappointment," said Daniel.
“All we expected from Kilmarnock tonight was what they did. Set pieces, long balls to Kabamba, but the defending wasn’t good enough. We started well, playing quickly on the front, controlling the game and making chances.
“A lot of things were really good, but after we conceded, it wasn’t so easy for us because at the moment we aren’t scoring when we have the chances and it’s too easy to score goals against us.
"The second goal is only a long ball and we’re not defending well. It was too easy. At half time, we talked about how we can change the game and then we immediately concede again.
"It is disappointing we came from half-time with motivation and conceded a goal like that. It is hard for me to explain what happened tonight. To concede three goals against Kilmarnock is not what we expected.”
